Daisy and Buttons
Daisy and Buttons is the story of a very anxious guinea pig and a friend who tries to help. After a series of unfortunate attempts to fix the problem, Daisy learns to ask for what she needs and Buttons learns the value of just being there.
The story comes from my experience working with a troop of Girl Scouts for many years. For me, the magic moments in Scouting were always the times when my girls found they were braver than they thought they were. They taught me over many years of rock climbing and ropes courses they the most important thing you can do for a friend who is afraid is to be there and believe in them. This book was written to help kids see what works and what doesn’t when you have a friend who is afraid.
